SUMMARY:JETAABC Yomi-Kai
DESCRIPTION:JETAABC Yomi-Kai was created for JET Alumni\, JETAA Friends and Community members to gather to discuss and discover books by Japanese Authors in translation or Japanese Canadian authors. We will always begin each session with quick icebreakers before we get into our book discussions. Our Yomi-Kai will be exploring each reading based on this one question: \nDoes the book engage you? Why or why not?  \nFrom exploring characters\, plots\, point of views\, to the general theme of the work; these are just some of the angles we will talk about with each reading piece. \nBooks are decided based on a voting system by attendees from the previous meeting. Please send in all your recommendations to us and also provide information as to how all our participants can get access to the book. Registrants will be provided a link in their inbox at least 3 days prior. \nSign up here. Follow more updates about this event on Facebook\, Instagram\, or on our JETAABC Newsletters. If you have any questions\, reach out on our Facebook event page or email us here. \nOur next meeting is: Thursday\, December 17\, 7pm \n\n\nWe enjoyed discussing Sayaka Murata’s short story last month so much that we decided to choose another short story by her for this month. We will read her most recent short story\, “Faith“\n\nHappy Reading!
