We are happy to announce that registration for JETAABC Japanese Language Classes for the Winter term is now open! We will be holding this term online over Zoom. Classes will start on January 13, 2021 from 6pm to 8pm PST every Thursdays until March 17, 2021.
Virtual Classroom:
The classes will be done online through Zoom and will utilize all available functions (i.e.polling, whiteboard, breakout rooms, etc) to maximize engagement and interaction between students and the teacher. For optimal language learning in the virtual classroom, students are kindly requested to have their cameras turned on. If you are new to Zoom, the Course Coordinator will be present at all the classes to assist you with any technical difficulties you may encounter. This way, all students can focus on the content of the class.
How to sign up & application deadline:
To confirm your participation in our Japanese Language Course, please fill in the google form here. We strongly recommend signing up before January 12th. However, if you miss it, contact our Japanese class coordinator and they will see if they can include you in.
Attendance Policy:
The classes are free to all JET Alumni. If you are from a neighbouring chapter, you are welcome to join as well! Materials, including digital textbooks and photocopies will also be provided at no cost. A special thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) for sponsoring and providing support for this course.
As part of our funding agreement, our generous sponsors require that there be at least 10 students per class. Each student is permitted 3 absences during the term. We strongly encourage for all registrants to follow this attendance policy to ensure that we can continue to provide this great opportunity for future JET Alumni.
