Wondering how best to describe to future employers ALL that you accomplished on JET? Confused on how to define your JET experience if you’re not working in higher education/teaching?
Concerned that your resume really doesn’t say ALL that it could, or that it doesn’t offer the reader a strong understanding of your skills and expertise? Have you pondered how a functional or chrono-functional resume might “sell you” more to readers?
If the answer is yes to any or all of the above questions, we have the career development session for you! Join Leah Gowron, career coach and JET alumna (Saitama ’90-’91) as she offers thoughts and suggestions on how best to market your JET experiences. With more than 25 years of career training, focusing on a range of professions, and having participated in the AfterJET Conference in Tokyo since 2001, Leah will offer solid examples, easy hints and some potentially new ways to express your knowledge, skills and abilities on your resume. We’ll cover ways to translate what you did on JET to non-teaching audiences, look at different resume formats and discuss why some may work better than others, and think about ways to best market YOU to future employers. It really can be fun and easy, with a bit of advance time and prep.
You can register to join us for the live session, receive a copy of the recording, or both! You also have the chance to submit your resume to have the JET portion reviewed (anonymously, of course) by Leah during the session.
