Thank you to everyone who participated both virtually and in person at our fourth JETAA Bento Workshop: Onigiri Edition on Sunday, January 28th, 2024.
This was the first year that we hosted this event as a Hybrid event by offering in-person locations both in Canada and the US and remotely over Zoom. We had 15 participants in Vancouver, BC; 16 in Anchorage, AK; and 12 who attended virtually. All 43 of us gathered, eager to learn and make onigiris.

It is time for our Annual General Meeting and Shinnenkai. This year’s event will be held at 1 Athletes Way in Vancouver (with the option to attend via Zoom), on Friday, January 26, 2024, 6:00 – 9:00pm. We will begin with a meet-and-greet before proceeding into our AGM and Board of Directors election.

On May 27th, 2023, 7 JET alumni and 2 community members gathered at BCIT in downtown Vancouver to celebrate Asian Heritage Month. They enjoyed a sushi lunch and time to learn about Asian Canadian history, share stories and experiences, and enjoy some fun games and karaoke. This was a great opportunity to engage, connect, educate, and raise awareness in our community.
The Powell Street Festival returns this summer with their classic charity lottery. Prizes include a trip for two to Little Tokyo, Los Angeles, a staycation at The Listel Hotel, festival passes, gift cards, and much more.
