Sakura Days 2020 Volunteer Registration

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with the JETAABC booth at this year’s Sakura Days Japan Fair taking place on April 18 and 19 at VanDusen Botanical Garden.

The JETAABC table will require two volunteers per shift, which means you’ll have a chance to look around the fair, eat some food, and enjoy the cherry blossoms, while your partner stays at the table (and vice versa). We will be promoting the JET Programme, membership in JETAABC and Japanese tourism.

JETAABC Tea Ceremony

What is the difference between Koicha and Usucha? This tea ceremony experience covers formal preparation of both types of tea. Each tea will be accompanied with a different type of wagashi (Japanese sweet). You will also learn about the differences in flavour, preparation, and guest protocols between the two.

Time:  Saturday November 23, 2019
Session 1:  12:45 pm – 2:45 pm
Session 2:  3:15 pm – 5:15 pm

Cost: $25 for JET Alumni, $30 for guests
